Anza rolls out update to address Solana network congestion issues
Anza introduced an update in version 1.18.11 of its validator client to address Solana’s network congestion issues.
Validator clients are key software tools used in proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchains such as Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH), enabling validators to verify transactions and adhere to the network’s rules. According to an Anza representative, the update is designed to address Solana’s congestion issues.
“The ongoing congestion issues are prompting developers to act quickly.”

In addition to enhancing validator clients, developers are exploring other strategies such as optimizing computational unit usage, implementing priority fees to improve user experience, and developing stake-weighted quality of service to prioritize transactions more efficiently.
The root cause of Solana’s network problems is mainly related to spam transactions, which severely slow down transaction speeds and increase transaction loss rates. Solana’s architecture processes transactions directly, without a memory pool, which exacerbates the problem.
External analysis has highlighted the severe congestion issues Solana is facing. Reports indicate that the popularity of the Solana meme coin has exacerbated network overload, leading to severe transaction delays and high failure rates.
In response, Solana Foundation strategy director Austin Federa took to Twitter to highlight the challenges facing the network. He added that the network has overcome similar challenges before, which shows that it has stability when dealing with such setbacks.
“Every decision is a series of trade-offs, and sometimes you get it right, and sometimes you get it wrong.”
Austin Federa, Head of Strategy at Solana Foundation
